As an institution that monitors and regulates the use of radiation sources in Indonesia, the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of workers, the community, and the environment. To realize this, BAPETEN provides guidance to permit holders, one of which is the implementation of human resource development through training in the nuclear energy sector organized by the Education and Training Division (BDL).
BAPETEN is implementing the 2024 Second Phase of Radiation Protection and Safety Training (PKR), which is currently being implemented by the BAPETEN Education and Training Division from 13-17 May 2024 in Cisarua, Bogor.
The PKR training aims to foster an understanding of the responsibilities in radiation protection and safety and the importance of implementing radiation protection and safety while carrying out work related to radiation, especially for service providers in intervention facilities.
The training was opened by the Head of BDL, Ahmad Ciptadi Syuryavin. This was attended by 31 participants consisting of 17 specialist doctors (thoracic surgery, anesthesiology and intensive therapy, heart and blood vessels, orthopedic surgery and traumatology, and neurology) and 14 other participants (radiographers, nurses, anesthesia technicians, Radiation Protection Officer (PPR), and medical physicists) from 14 private and government hospitals.
