BAPETEN held an Executive Meeting and BAPETEN Award 2024 on Monday, December 2, 2024 in Jakarta. This activity is one form of implementation of appreciation and appreciation to all people and stakeholders who have contributed and played an active role in realizing the safety and security of the use of nuclear power in Indonesia. Anugerah BAPETEN is an annual routine event that has been held since 2015. In Anugerah BAPETEN 2024, the theme is “Strengthening Domestic Nuclear Products to Build Nuclear Independence towards Golden Indonesia 2045”.
Present at this event, Plt. Head of BAPETEN Sugeng Sumbarjo, Deputy for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin, Deputy for Nuclear Safety Assessment Haendra Subekti, Director of Inspection of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Substances (DIFRZR) Asep Saefulloh, Director of Inspection of Installation and Nuclear Materials (DI2BN) Lukman Hakim, Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR) Ishak, Director of Licensing for Nuclear Installations and Materials (DPIBN) Wiryono, Director of Nuclear Engineering and Preparedness (DK2N) Zulkarnain, Primary High Officials and several related staff. While from external BAPETEN, the awardees of the BAPETEN 2024 Award were present.
The activity was opened with remarks from Sugeng Sumbarjo who said “To achieve nuclear independence, we need stronger cross-sector collaboration. There needs to be synergy between the government, academics, industry players, and the community to develop domestic nuclear products that are innovative, safe, and in accordance with the needs of the nation.”
“This is where the importance of BAPETEN as a supervisor who is not only tasked with overseeing nuclear safety and security, but also supporting the development of responsible and competitive nuclear technology,” Sugeng concluded.
The event then continued with a panel discussion with the theme “Strengthening Domestic Nuclear Products in order to Build Nuclear Independence Towards Indonesia EMas 2045” with moderated by Deputy for Nuclear Safety Assessment of BAPETEN Haendra Subekti and resource persons Director of Pharmaceutical and Health Security KEMENKES - Roy Himawan, Director of Machinery Industry and Agricultural Machinery Directorate General of Metal Industry, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics, Ministry of Industry - Yan Sibarang Tandiele, Deputy for Licensing and Inspection of BAPETEN - Zainal Arifin. The panel discussion session was closed with questions and answers to all executive meeting participants.
After the panel discussion was completed, the activity continued with the BAPETEN Award 2024. The BAPETEN Award is given in 5 (five) categories which include Permit Holders in the field of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Substances; Radiation Protection Officers in the field of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Substances; X-ray aircraft Conformity Test Institute; Nuclear Training Institute, and Permit Holders who are compliant in reporting radiology patient dose data (Optimization of Radiation Safety in Radiology Patients).
The 10th BAPETEN Award this time BAPETEN gave awards to 301 license holders for medical institutions, 166 for Research and Industrial institutions, 9 institutions for Radiation Safety Optimization for Radiologist Patients, 4 Radiation Protection Officers (PPR), 6 X-ray Aircraft Conformity Test Institutions and 3 Nuclear Training Institutions. In addition to License Holders, BAPETEN also awarded the BAPETEN Award to the Police Agency, due to cooperation in law enforcement efforts in the nuclear sector. [BHKK/OR/CD/DA]
