The activity, which was attended by BRIN representatives, academics and business owners, was opened by the Deputy Chairman of Nuclear Safety Assessment BAPETEN Dahlia Cakrawati Sinaga. She said, "Perba No. 3 of 2022 is an implementation of Law No. 10 of 1997 article 16 that all uses of nuclear energy must pay attention to the safety, security, peace and health of workers and community members, and protection of the environment".

Dahlia added "With this guidance, it is hoped that we can understand all the articles and attachments in this debate. The details of the system and components present in the terrace must be in accordance with safety. The safety of reactor operation during its lifetime must be considered and maintained. We must maintain the safety of the core in the operation of the reactor. It is hoped that we can control safety because the safety of an installation will affect or affect the safety of the community and the environment".

Furthermore, the presentation of BAPETEN Regulation No. 3 of 2022 concerning the Design of Reactor Terraces by the Coordinator of Chess Power Reactor Regulation Catur Febriyanto Sutopo said that in the preparation of the Perba using a reference from the IAEA, namely the Design of the Reactor Core for Nuclear Power Plants, SSG-52. The coverage in SSG-52 is for land based, but in this perba it applies not only to land based but also to floating. Catur explained about the articles in the perba including the design of the terrace, its qualifications, monitoring and testing.

There was a spoke person from BRIN Azizul Hakim who gave a presentation on the review of BAPETEN Regulation No. 3 of 2022. In the review, it was stated that the Perba can be applied directly to a Light Water Reactor (LWR)-based Small Modular Reactor (SMR) developed from a proven commercial reference plant. A multilevel approach can be applied to specific systems. However, the Perba has not been accommodating to arrange the safety design of non LWR SMR type reactor cores. A broader multilevel approach can be applied.

After the presentation session was over, it was followed by discussions and QnA session related to the Perba.

The activity was closed by the Director of DP2IBN Haendra Subekti. Haendra said that prospective permit holders must carefully read this regulation. Before and at the time of design it is best to communicate and consult with BAPETEN to ensure all goes well. BAPETEN opens time to communicate regarding regulations related to nuclear installations.
