This year's celebration of Indonesia's 79th anniversary of independence has as its theme "New Archipelago, Advanced Indonesia." This theme explains a transition that involves both transferring the capital of the nation and ensuring that the current administration lives on alongside the new one in the future.

The acting chairman of BAPETEN, Sugeng Sumbarjo, acted as the ceremony instructor. The series of ceremonies were filled with the raising of the Red and White Flag, the reading of the Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, and the Proclamation Text. On that occasion, the BAPETEN choir sang the national song Independence Day.

At the flag ceremony commemorating the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the Head of BAPETEN also pinned the Satyalancana Karya Satya Honorary Medal to 25 BAPETEN employees as an award for their devotion, loyalty, honesty, skill, and discipline in carrying out their duties as Civil Servants (PNS). With the awarding of this honorary medal, it is hoped that it can spur the performance of all of us so that we can participate in supporting the government's achievements. (BHKK/SP/GP/CD)
